Sarasota Archery Academy accepts athletes ages 6 and up. We have divisions for youth, young adult, and adult competitors across both the X-Ring (USA Archery) and Upper 12’s (ASA 3D) programs. There is no upper age limit — if you are committed to training and competing, there is a place for you on this team.
Yes. Sarasota Archery Academy is affiliated with USA Archery and participates in JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) programs, state championships, and national tournaments. Our X-Ring Program is built around the USA Archery target discipline at indoor 18-meter 3-spot and outdoor 720-round formats.
We run three team levels. The Development Squad is for newer archers learning fundamentals. The Competition Team is for intermediate archers ready to train seriously and shoot local and regional tournaments. The Travel Team is for elite-level athletes who compete at state and national tournaments. Athletes advance between levels as coaches identify readiness.
Sarasota Archery Academy competes in two primary circuits. The X-Ring Program focuses on USA Archery target disciplines — indoor 18-meter 3-spot rounds and outdoor 720-round formats. The Upper 12’s Program competes in ASA 3D archery, including Florida state qualifiers and the Florida ASA State Championship, with athletes pursuing Shooter of the Year rankings. We compete at state, regional, and national events across Florida.
The X-Ring Program is for USA Archery target archers competing in indoor 18-meter 3-spot rounds and outdoor 720-round formats. Many of these athletes aspire to JOAD national events, U.S. Archery Team trials, or collegiate archery. The Upper 12’s Program is for archers pursuing ASA 3D archery at the highest level — Florida state qualifiers, the Florida ASA State Championship, and Shooter of the Year rankings. Athletes choose the program that matches their competitive goals.
We hold open tryout sessions periodically throughout the year. Our coaching staff evaluates fundamental form, coachability, attitude, and competitive potential. Prior experience is helpful but not required — we are looking for athletes with the drive to improve. Visit our Join page or contact us at info@sarasotaarcheryacademy.com to find out when the next tryout is scheduled.
Not to start. We have loaner equipment available for tryouts and initial training. As athletes progress to the competition team, personal equipment becomes necessary for consistency and proper fit. Our coaching staff advises athletes on equipment selection when the time comes — and our 501(c)(3) status means donated equipment sometimes becomes available for athletes who need it.
Visit our Join page to learn about the tryout process and programs, or contact us at (941) 500-9331 or info@sarasotaarcheryacademy.com. We welcome archers of all experience levels — we evaluate based on commitment, coachability, and readiness to train, not on prior tournament record.
Year-round training. Tryout-based admission. All skill levels welcome. Apply today and meet the coaches at your first session.
