Lakewood Ranch is not an ordinary Florida suburb. It is a 33,000-acre master-planned community that has ranked as America’s #1 best-selling multigenerational master-planned community for seven consecutive years. It spans Sarasota and Manatee counties, houses more than 74,000 residents with more arriving every year, and was designed from the ground up around the idea that community infrastructure should be exceptional. The median household income in Lakewood Ranch is $122,925. Nearly 78% of all LWR households are families. Every school in the Manatee County portion of the community carries an A rating from the Florida Department of Education.
No — there is no competitive, tryout-based archery team within Lakewood Ranch. Sarasota Archery Academy in Sarasota is the closest competitive program, located 20–25 minutes south on I-75. The academy fields Lakewood Ranch athletes in USA Archery and ASA 3D circuits at the Florida state level, under Level 3 NTS-certified coaching. Lakewood Ranch is one of SAA's most active recruiting communities.

The athletic infrastructure in Lakewood Ranch reflects exactly that standard. The Premier Sports Campus — 140 acres, 23 professional-grade multi-use fields, 8 of them lighted for night competition — sits in the heart of LWR and hosts national youth sports championships that draw elite youth teams from across the country. Lakewood Ranch FC, Lakewood Ranch Little League, the Lakewood Ranch Titans — the community has built competitive youth sports organizations in every major sport. It is a community where the question isn’t whether your child competes. It’s what they compete in, and how seriously.
Competitive archery has been the missing sport. There is no tryout-based archery team in Lakewood Ranch. There is no ASA 3D or USA Archery program competing at the Florida state level with certified coaches, operating anywhere in the community or nearby. Sarasota Archery Academy — 20 minutes south on I-75 — is the answer that Lakewood Ranch archery families have been waiting for.
From most Lakewood Ranch villages, Sarasota Archery Academy’s training facility is 20–25 minutes south on I-75. For a competitive youth sports program, that’s a commute Lakewood Ranch families already make routinely — to specialist doctors at Sarasota Memorial, to arts programs downtown, to specialty training that doesn’t exist within LWR itself. The Premier Sports Campus drew national youth soccer championships to your backyard. Our program asks for a 20-minute drive. The return — Level 3 NTS coaching, two state-level competitive programs, 501(c)(3) nonprofit pricing — is something you will not find anywhere closer.
Lakewood Ranch families are not unfamiliar with driving for quality. The community was built on the premise that the best things are worth planning around. Our Monday and Thursday 5:00–8:00 PM practice schedule was designed to be compatible with school schedules and family logistics. Athletes from LWR are among our most consistent — because the families who choose to raise children in the nation’s top master-planned community tend to be the exact families who follow through on commitments to quality programs.
Lakewood Ranch is one of Sarasota Archery Academy’s strongest recruiting communities. If you are a Lakewood Ranch family with an athlete who is competitive, coachable, and ready to train seriously in a discipline that most communities simply don’t offer — we want to hear from you.
